To Kill a Mockingbird Book Jacket
Book jacket designed for Harper Lee’s 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird. The Pulitzer Prize winning novel explores racial justice and morality through the memories of Scout, the daughter of lawyer Atticus Finch, during her childhood in 1930s Alabama.
The book takes its name from the famous quote and metaphor “it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird,” which draws comparison between the innocent and harmless characters harmed through the court system in the novel.
This piece was selected by jurors for American University’s 2025 Design Show.
