Chesapeake Bay Health Data Visualization
This data visualization magazine spread was created to educate viewers about the history of the Chesapeake Bay’s conservation efforts and the ways that the Bay’s health can be improved.
The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States. An estuary is a unique body of water that is made of a mix of salt and fresh water through connection to both the ocean and rivers/streams.
While the Chesapeake Bay itself spans both Maryland and Virginia, its watershed includes rivers and streams across six states and Washington DC. The Chesapeake Bay watershed is also an incredibly important region, serving as home to over 3,600 plant/animal species, 100,000 rivers, creeks and streams, and 18 million people.
